Barbie Birthday Bash
She wanted a desk for her sixth birthday. We don't live in a very big town so it was a little difficult to track one down that matched her room. I had been on the look-out for awhile and spotted one in St. George. So I asked the hubby to put her in our bed to sleep while I ran down with a friend late that night to pick it up. I wanted to set it up and then move her into her room while she was asleep so it would be a surprise when she woke up. I had to break it down to fit in my car so I got right to work putting it together when I got home. I turned on the lights in her room, got out the power drill and screws and put it together. It had some heavy pieces to carry in so I was hoping she wouldn't wake up from the other room ( I wasn't quiet by any means). When I was almost finished and admiring my work I stood up and looked over at her bed and there she was! I couldn't believe she never woke up with the lights on, the power drill and me in and out with the pieces! I guess she is a hard sleeper. Mike obviously didn't understand what I meant and put her to bed in her own bed. All was well the next morning when she woke up and ran into our room so excited for her new desk.
She had it decorated in no time. She has even recently added her name with paper letters on the mirror just like they do at Evans (the hair college).
She finally got the Horseland game she had wanted!
The cousins at her Birthday dinner.
PROOF - she does love her sister, sometimes anyway:)
Her friend party - Barbie themed. I finally gave in and let her have a Barbie party.
We hired a neighbor to come and do balloons. She was AMAZING. They played games, went on a balloon adventure and then she made them their own balloon animals.
She started with this balloon hat . . . .
Then each friend added a piece until it looked like this!
Lunch
We decorated cookies.
Blowing out SIX candles.
Halle trying on the hat while big sister wasn't looking!
And the best part was when Barbie showed up! My teacher friend's gorgeous daughter and her friend showed up and took pictures with all the girls! The kiddies loved it. Thank you Kim and Madi!

January/February
Here is my feeble attempt at Blogging. I am such a slacker. Just hangin' around this summer with the girls and not doing much of anything else! Here is Valentines Day. . .
Every Valentines Day we make dinner. Who likes to stand in line at a restaurant anyway, right? We invite all of our favorite single people over and have a party!
We had Auntie Erin and her son, the girls' babysitter and our attorney Aunt Amy. Okay, so she's not really MY attorney but she is an attorney and it sounds cooler to say she is MY attorney. We feasted upon White Chili and goodies like cake pops and chocolate covered strawberries. Yum!
Making cookies at her school party. Since I was her teacher I got to go to every class party. So lucky;)
The cake-pop Bouquet that was delivered to her at school.
The little one enjoying her chocolate covered strawberries. She gobbled those right up!
Auntie Erin and Cousin Zak.
Science Fair:
Kysa was so excited to do a science project this year. Oh Boy, this was a lot of work. She came up with her own idea and really did the majority of the work. We managed to put in quite a few late nights but it was so fun. She decided she wanted to test which stain remover worked the best. I was curious to know myself as I see quite a lot of dirty clothes with two super active girls around the house! Here we go . . .
The materials
She stained each shirt with jam and chocolate
Spraying each one with above mentioned materials
Tossing them in the washer.
With her science board.
Here is the Momma Bear coming out in me. They lumped the Kindergartners with the 30+ first graders involved so she really didn't stand a chance. So, of course, didn't win anything at all but overall it was a very positive experience. We are looking forward to next year. Well, Sorta. . . Good thing it only comes around once a year.
p.s. If you were wondering which one worked the best it was the OxyClean!

Before I forget . . .
These pictures were all taken when Halle was about 18 months. Since she is almost 2 I thought I better get posting! We had an unfortunate accident at our house that involved our Internet air-card being flushed down the toilet by a very mischievous toddler! Needless to say I am way behind on blogging. We are headed to CA for the week so I am trying to catch up before we leave. No promises though.
Eighteen Month Check-Up (2-4-11)
Weight: 18 lbs 7 oz - .21%
Height: 32 inches - 57%
Head: 18.5 in - 62%
I love how when she is getting out of the shower she wraps that towel around her just like I do. It is so entertaining to watch her copy everyone around her. She especially loves to do anything and everything her sister does. I wish she wouldn't grow up so fast. I miss my baby!

Toby
Toby
2003-2011
Today was a sad, sad day for our family. Our little Toby dog was run over this morning and died. He is buried next to the little cottonwood tree in our backyard. We will always remember how he was always happy to see us and how he loved to run around with the girls. He was such a happy and rambunctious little dog with a huge personality. He will be missed. R.I.P Toby. We love you!

Christmas Catch Up!
I am going to try and catch up on the last few months. I am so far behind but this blog is my journal and scrapbook at this point so I am going to attempt to keep up! We spent the holidays in Texas this year. It was hard on the kids not to have their dad around for the festivities but I went anyway because all my brothers and sister were going to be in Texas and I hadn't been home for the holidays since Kysa was two!
Before we left, Kysa had her Christmas dance recital. It is a little crazy to have rehearsals and also remember to have both cameras charged and make-up done, etc. but there is no other way I would rather welcome the Christmas spirit in than watching my little girl dance to Holiday music. She totally puked the whole day of her recital but felt better that evening and danced her heart out. I was so proud of her for going. Once we got home she resumed her puking. Yuck! She is a little trooper!
Once in Texas the first outing took place at The Bass Pro Shops. I was way excited that the kids had such a good time AND it was free! (Well, if you refrain from buying their cute but over-priced merchandise)
Uncle Josh!
You can see how Halle felt about Santa!
Baking cookies for Santa. The best part is still tasting the dough!
And Christmas . . .
My sleepy girl!
Can't forget the Pillow Pets and Sock Monkey!
Here is Kysa doing what she loves, painting.
and Halle painting her face!
I finally went to the stockyards! Of all the years I lived in Texas I had never been there! I know, I can't believe it either! LOVED the fried pickles and authentic Bar-B-Q! Yum, Yum, Yum!
The girls loved seeing real Longhorns. They were quite amazing to watch!
And that is the Christmas Vacay in a nutshell! Stay tuned for more . . . .
